The Spirit of Jazz & Democracy is a lecture/concert program developed by Fragman that illuminates and demonstrates the parallels of Jazz and Democracy. Jazz is the music of freedom in performance as well as concept. It is also the true American art. Fragman's presentation highlights the use of Jazz by the US government in foreign policy to promote American values, ideas of Democracy, and freedom around the world. The performance portion of the program features master musicians and improvisors Paul F. Murphy and Larry Willis as well as poet Jere Carroll and Fragman. The concert is %100 improvised as improvisation is one of the essential elements of the music. The video below further details the program.

The group recently performed at the historic public honors college, St. Mary's College of Maryland to great reception. The program was presented by the college's Center for the Study of Democracy.
